The Institute was established and registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 in the year 1987. Now the Institute of Handloom and Textile technology is amalgamated to Indian Institute of Handloom technology which is working on the guidelines of governing body of Indian Institute of Handlooms ,Ministry of Textiles ,Govt of India. We also have post graduate diploma Program under community collage of Kannur. A centre of the Institution is functioning at Balaramapuram,Trivandrum.

Indian Institute of Handloom Technology Recruitment Notification 2013 For Lecturer. Application are invited for the Posts of Lecturer in Indian Institute of Handloom Technology.
Designation : Principal, Lecturer
Qualification :
1) Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Textile Technology/Engineering with first class or Equivalent either at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.Ph.D in Engineering. Experience Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in teaching/research/industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at the level of head of department or equivalent.
2) Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology in the relevant branch with first class or equivalent If the candidate has a Master’s degree in engineering/ technology, first class or equivalent is required at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
Location : Kannur
Age Limit : 35 Yrs.
