The survey has its genesis in the establishment of the Zoological Section of the Indian Museum at Calcutta in 1875. By gradually strengthening its staff and expanding its research programe, the Survey has met the challenge of the past and is on its way to meet the demands of the future. It has maintained its primary objectives unchanged from its inception.

Zoological Survey of India Recruitment Notification 2013 For Research Associate. Application are invited for the Posts of Research Associate in Zoological Survey of India.
Designation :
1. Research Associate 01 post
2. Junior Research Fellow 03 posts
3. Field Collector cum Assistant 01 post
Qualification : Candidates must possess Ph.D., In Zoology/ Marine Biology for S.No 1 post, M.Sc., Zoology/ Marine Biology or Equivalent with 55% marks from a recognized University, Intermediate In Science/ Graduate in any branch of Biological sciences for S.No 3 post, with relevant experience for all the posts.
Location : Kolkata
Age Limit : Candidates age preferably shall be within 28 years as on 01-07-2013. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST and can be relaxed depending on the experience of the candidate.
Interview Date : Probable 1st and 2nd Weeks of August
Venue : Interview will be held at jamnagar,Kolkata and Chennai depending on the number of applications received
