Exposure to Free and Open Source communities of work.
Prior participation in coding competitions.
Strong fundamentals of algorithms.
Interest in handling large data sets.
Strong fundamentals in statistics and quantitative analysis based upon statistical methods.
Has worked on Linux/knows how to develop/code on Linux systems.
Familiarity with Python and mathematical libraries/graphing libraries.
Familiarity with R is a plus
