Even though it started functioning in a limited way in 1944, the Institute was formally inaugurated on August 26, 1950.

Skills :
The candidate should possess M.Sc.in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics with minimum 55% MArks.
B.E/B.Tech in Mechnical/Chemical/Elecrical/Electronics/Computer Science & Engineering with minimum 55% Marks
Proficiency in programming language (Fortran/C/C++/MAT Lab/Lab View etc) is desirable.
